3 Bold Predictions for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 Week 9

Bold Prediction #1: The offense bounces back

The Raiders’ offense was absolutely putrid last Sunday. It was so bad, in fact, that the team did not run a single play in Saints’ territory until Jarrett Stidham entered the game in relief of Derek Carr.

Speaking of Carr, he played one of his worst career games last weekend. Completing under 60% of his passes, Carr threw for just 101 yards and zero touchdowns, adding an interception along the way. The former Fresno State QB finished the game with a 50.3 rating. Also, Carr took multiple sacks that were pretty difficult to blame on the offensive line.

This week, however, expect the Raiders’ offense to bounce back. If there is one thing that has been consistent about Derek Carr’s tenure with the Silver and Black, it is that they seem to play pretty well after all hope appears to be lost.

The Jaguars have had a relatively good defense in 2022, as they rank tenth overall in scoring defense coming into Week 9. The unit can be run on, though. Jacksonville currently has the 17th-ranked rushing defense.

Josh Jacobs is in the midst of a career-best season, and he should be able to dictate the pace in this one. Coming off of a mediocre game where the Raiders had to play from behind, Jacobs will be looking to get back on track in this matchup.

After scoring zero points last week, the Raiders will get in the endzone at least three times on Sunday, scoring 25+ points.
