The Las Vegas Raiders should start looking ahead to the 2023 NFL Draft after a dismal 2-6 start, and here, we dive into a quick three-round mock.
Drafting mock drafts in early November was not the optimal scenario that Raider Nation had been dreaming about when it comes to the 2022 Las Vegas Raiders. Unfortunately, reality is often more of a disappointment than we’d like to admit. That logic applies to the 2022 version of the Raiders.
With a new regime headed by the coaching and general manager duo of Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler firmly entrenched, laying the foundation for the future begins next April. Despite big-time acquisitions such as Davante Adams and Chandler Jones, the team has largely been a disappointment of epic proportions.
At 2-6, the Raiders are currently on pace for the third overall pick, though things can change between now and December when we’ll have a clearer picture of what the top of the order will look like.
Some fans are clamoring for a new quarterback, while others continue to point to the defense as having the most pressing needs. Also, we cannot forget about the offensive line. Luckily for the Raiders, Ziegler found quality linemen in the third and seventh rounds this past April. Will he follow a similar plan in 2023? Load up on key positions at the top, then beef up the trenches in the middle rounds and after.
Regardless, here’s one of many scenarios you’ll be presented with from now until April.
