Stud – First half Raiders defense

Just like the Raiders’ offense had a great first half, so did the defense until the last minute of the half. The day started off well as the Raider defense took advantage of some sloppiness from the Jaguars and got just their 5th turnover of the year, good enough for last in the NFL. The Jaguars were already on the Raider 26 at this point so this took at least 3 points off the board for Jacksonville.

The defense stopped the Jaguars’ offense two more times in the first half, allowing the Raiders to build a 17-0 lead. The Jaguars then went on a 10-play, 6-minute drive to score their first touchdown of the game but at least the Raiders made them work for it right? This wouldn’t be a portent of things to come or anything like that so no need to worry.

After the Raiders kicked a field goal on the next drive, the calamity started as the Raider defense allowed the Jaguars to go 50 yards in 42 seconds to kick a field goal and make it a respectable 20-10 scoreline at the half with them getting the ball to start the second half. It was a sign of things to come as the Jaguars moved the ball at will in the second half but at least the defense had a good 29 minutes and 15 seconds.
