Las Vegas Raiders X-Factors against the Colts in 2022 Week 10
The Raiders’ coaching advantage
There have been many calls for Josh McDaniels’ job as Las Vegas has disappointed with a 2-6 record this season. Of those six losses, three have come by way of a 17-point blown lead, which is a testament to Las Vegas being unable to close out games from start to finish. The Raiders’ last two losses have been embarrassing performances against the lowly Saints and Jaguars.
And yet with the Colts coming to town on Sunday, there is no way the Raiders can lose the coaching matchup in this contest. Right?
After Indianapolis fired head coach Frank Reich earlier this week, they added former Colts center Jeff Saturday as the interim head coach, despite the latter having no professional coaching experience to his name. Since Saturday has never called plays before, it will be Parks Frazier commanding the offense, who was previously the Colts’ pass game specialist/assistant quarterbacks coach.
The Colts have opted to go with Sam Ehlinger under center as Matt Ryan has been sidelined with a shoulder injury, and now they place their trust in an interim head coach with no prior professional coaching experience, with the cherry on top being a first-time play-caller running the offense.
No matter how bad the past few losses have been, the Raiders cannot afford to waste their clear advantage in this coaching matchup.
