Raiders vs Colts 2022 Week 10: Bold predictions

Bold Prediction #1:  Even the Raiders’ defense can hang with Sam Ehlinger

The Raiders’ defense has not been, well, good this season. Through 9 weeks, only four teams have allowed more points per game than Las Vegas.

To add on, the Raiders cannot get pressure on the opposing quarterback if their lives depended on it. The Silver and Black rank dead last in sacks per game, at just 1.1 a contest. In total, Las Vegas has nine sacks this season.

Maxx Crosby has six of them.

Outside of their star pass rusher, the Raiders’ defense appears truly inept.

Despite how bad the unit is, however, the Colts’ offense may be even worse. With no play caller and no quarterback (sorry, Sam Ehlinger believers), the Colts have nowhere to turn offensively. In his third start of the season, Sam Ehlinger will be taking direction from his third different offensive coordinator.

Even against a truly awful defense like Las Vegas, it is hard to see how the Colts will manage to score more than the odd touchdown or field goal. While Jonathan Taylor is likely to return from injury, he will almost exclusively see stacked boxes to stop the run. After coming off of a lengthy absence, don’t expect him to take over the game.

When the Colts’ offense meets the Raiders’ defense on Sunday, it is going to be ugly. There is absolutely no doubt about that.

It will just be a little bit uglier a little bit more often for the Colts.
