Las Vegas Raiders: “Rome” did not need to be built by new regime
Raiders should have moved forward in 2022
After a ten-win season, and the hype surrounding the arrival of Josh McDaniels and David Ziegler reaching high levels, many expected the Silver and Black to be one of the best teams in the NFL. Las Vegas went out and brought in a star in Davante Adams, Derek Carr’s best friend, and a guy widely considered the best wideout in the NFL.
With the addition of Chandler Jones on defense and added strength in the secondary in Duron Harmon and Rock Ya-Sin, all signs pointed to this being another douvle-digit win season for Las Vegas. Instead, McDaniels’s shortcomings as a head coach were evident right away, and to date, he has already blown three 17-0 leads, and just lost to another head coach that had never held the role at the NFL or even collegiate level.
To say the Raiders have taken a step back on the field is an understatement, but based on all the noise coming from Davis and the front office, they are losing their sense of reality. This was a playoff-caliber roster going into last offseason, which is not something that can be said as the 2022 regular season winds down.
