2023 7-round Mock Draft: Raiders hit the reset button at QB
The Chandler Jones signing has been an abject failure and the staff doesn’t seem to like Tashawn Bower and Malcolm Koonce so it’s time for some fresh blood at the position. Arkansas’s Jordan Domineck projects nicely as a day 3 pick and could be a steal for the Raiders this late in the draft.
Domineck has 15.5 sacks since 2019 and has been hitting career highs this season with 6.5 sacks in 10 games after transferring to Arkansas from Georgia Tech. The super senior shows excellent instincts on tape with good quickness off the edge and an ability to read and react to plays. He is by no means an elite-level pass rusher but has the tools and talent to be a complementary player and is solid enough at 6-3, 260lbs to hold up against the run.
There are some holes in his game such as a tendency to get swallowed up by bigger tackles and will need to add to some muscle to his frame but at this point in the draft, you are looking for potential rather than a finished product. Regardless of his development, he has the ability to contribute right away as a rotational defensive lineman and his production in the SEC proves that. He could be a great value for the Raiders at the end of this draft.
