The Las Vegas Raiders beat the Denver Broncos on Sunday, which was a step in the right direction for a team in a horrible 2022 campaign.

Going into their Week 11 matchup against the Denver Broncos, the Las Vegas Raiders were in the midst of a three-game losing streak. During that time, the Silver and Black saw their playoff chances evaporate, losing winnable games against New Orleans, Jacksonville, and Indianapolis.

So, the game against a divisional rival on the road was not one many expected the Raiders to win, especially with how the team had been playing as of late. The defense in Las Vegas has been horrible, Derek Carr was playing sub-par football, and with a rash of injuries, the expectation was this would be a dogfight.

In the end, that is exactly what it was, as the teams needed overtime to find out who would come out on top. Before the game, Denver head coach Nathaniel Hackett stated that “someone had to win,” and for a minute, it looked like that would not be the case.

However, in the end, Carr had some magic in his right arm and led the Silver and Black to a 22-16 overtime victory thanks to an under-pressure throw to Davante Adams. The touchdown was the pair’s second of the game and capped off a season sweep for the Raiders

Raiders have a tough road ahead of them

Tough games are on the horizon, as the Silver and Black will have to go to Seattle this upcoming weekend and take on a team that has surpassed expectations this season. Then, they take on the two Los Angeles teams, at home against the Chargers, and then on the road against the Rams, so this three-game stretch will make or break their season.

We saw these Raiders finish strong last season, earning a playoff spot that nobody expected them to. For today, their slim playoff hopes are still alive, and for the first time this season, the Silver and Black won a close game and did so in an exciting fashion.
