Las Vegas Raiders vs Denver Broncos 2022 Week 11: Studs and Duds

Derek Carr – Stud

As much as the Raiders needed this victory, Derek Carr needed it even more. After a crushing defeat against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10, Carr bared his soul for all to see in the post-game press conference and received both criticism and sympathy for doing so.

Regardless of how you feel about Carr or his press conference, he was absolutely dynamite in Denver against an elite defense that coming into the week was ranked fourth in total defense. Carr was still down two of his top weapons and his starting left tackle Kolton Miller but he battled through that and came out with perhaps his best game of the season.

Carr finished the day going 23-37 for 307 yards, two touchdowns, and most importantly no turnovers. He diced up the elite Denver defense and bought time in the pocket to extend plays and find his college buddy Davante Adams for two long touchdowns. He brought the Raiders down the field at the end of the game and tied it up to send it to overtime and then delivered the game-winner after Adams absolutely roasted his defender.

Carr and the offense still have plenty of issues in the red zone but if he keeps finding Adams from 30 yards out that won’t even matter. This win must have felt incredible for Carr after so many failed comeback attempts and doing it in Denver must have been the cherry on top.
