Maxx Crosby and the Defense – Stud

Maxx Crosby continued his incredible level of play with a legendary performance against the Denver Broncos where he seems to always play well. Aside from the 2 massive sacks, Crosby had a sequence of plays at the end of the first half that were the stuff of legends.

On 3rd and 1 from the Raiders’ 3-yard line and Las Vegas trailing 10-7, Crosby forced a fumble from Melvin Gordon that forced the Broncos to attempt a chip shot field goal. On the next snap, Crosby surged up the middle and blocked Brandon McManus’s 25-yard attempt to keep the Denver advantage to just 3 points at halftime. It was an incredible sequence that showed how special he can be.

This was the first time in a long time that the rest of the Raiders’ defense showed up as well to help Crosby hold down a struggling Denver offense. They held Denver to just one touchdown and kept them to just 6 points in the second half after giving up 10 in the first.

They minimized the big plays and came up with a massive stop at the end of the fourth quarter to give Carr a chance to tie it up or win it in regulation. The Denver offense is one of the worst in the NFL but the Raiders’ defense did its job and kept an opponent to under 20 points for just the first time this season.
