Las Vegas Raiders vs Denver Broncos 2022 Week 11: Studs and Duds

Josh Jacobs – Stud

This was a low-key Josh Jacobs game in the sense that he did not have any big plays on the ground but was a steadying force for the offense. Jacobs rushed for 109 yards on 24 carries and his longest run was just 15 yards but time and again he would surge for a first down or an extra 3-4 yards when he looked to be stopped in his tracks.

Jacobs was a physical force and he punished the Denver defense on each of his carries, but his biggest play came through the air with the game on the line. On first and 10 from the 50, Jacobs toasted a Denver linebacker and reeled in a Derek Carr pass down the sideline before being pushed out at the 7-yard line.

There was a brief second where it looked like he might score a touchdown on the play, but he made the right decision to go out of bounds rather than keep fighting for yardage and burn precious time off the clock.

Regardless of where he ends up next season, Jacobs has certainly earned a big contract from either the Raiders or another team in 2023. He has been dependable, durable, and downright special at times for a Raiders offense in need of an identity. The young back is just 70 yards shy of a 1,000-yard season and is on pace to break his career-high of 12 rushing touchdowns in 2020.
