Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Madd Maxx gets some help

137. player. 840. . DB. Gators . Trey Dean III

Trey Dean is an older prospect at 23 years old but he has been productive in his five years of college ball as he has racked up 242 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 3 fumble recoveries. He is solidly built at 6-3, 207lbs and projects well as a box safety or nickel cornerback.

Dean has some concerns about his long speed but has great quickness and fluidity to stick with shifty receivers or backs in space. His biggest strength is as a tackler near the line of scrimmage and he rarely shies away from contact in the run game. He sounds a bit like Johnathan Abram to be completely honest and we saw some of the great things he did against the run but hopefully Dean has much better coverage skills than Abram.

This selection gives the Raiders DB group a bit more depth and if Patrick Graham and his multiple safety defense is still in Las Vegas then they will need all the bodies they can get at that position. He would be a solid long term replacement for Duron Harmon who has been great at times and poor at others for a struggling Raiders defense.
