The verdict is in: Raiders Davante Adams hasn’t regressed with Derek Carr

The theorizing is over – Davante Adams has not regressed upon going from Aaron Rodgers to Derek Carr at quarterback.

If you think Derek Carr is the only one benefitting from Davante Adams’ presence, think again.

Adams has opened the window of opportunity up for teammate Mack Hollins in a big way. With defenders focusing on no.17, Hollins has been able to get space and greatly impact games. By Davante’s side, the former Dolphin has already logged career-highs in both receiving yards and receptions, all with seven contests still left to be played.

You can only stuff the stat sheet for so long until defenses start respecting your presence, and Mack Hollins is making opposing defenders respect him in a monstrous way.

Against Denver this past Sunday, Davante Adams scored a 35-yard walk-off touchdown to escape overtime with a victory. The real reason this happened was because Patrick Surtain, who was split between Hollins and Adams as the pair of receivers crossed one another, chose to stick with Hollins.

That left Adams open, and the rest is history. That touchdown was all thanks to the respect defenders have gained for Hollins, due to Hollins dominance while he was the forgotten man.

This has all stemmed directly from the attention Davante Adams’ presence demands.

All-in-all, not only has Adams not regressed with Carr, but the All-Pro is helping his teammates to post career-highs across the board. That’s the kind of impact he has, and why the trade was a no-brainer from the beginning. Cheers to a long future in Las Vegas, Davante.
