Raiders at Seattle 2022 Week 12: Seahawks to worry about
By Brad Weiss
The Las Vegas Raiders take on a tough Seattle Seahawks team in Week 12, and here are some members of the Seattle roster they need to be worried about.
In Week 12, the Las Vegas Raiders will head to the Northwest to take on the Seattle Seahawks looking to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Seattle is currently in first place in the NFC West and is looking to stave off the San Francisco 49ers and win their first divisional title since 2020 when they lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round.
Going into 2022, the narrative surrounding Seattle was they would take a step back after the trade of Russell Wilson, but Geno Smith has stepped in and exceeded expectations. While Smith is having a great year, here are three Seahawks the Raiders must focus on in Week 12.
Raiders at Seattle 2022 Week 12: Seahawks to Worry About
Kenneth Walker III
Rashaad Penny suffered an injury back in October, and the ankle issue forced him to end his season early. Since then, rookie Kenneth Walker III has stepped in and done a tremendous job at the position, and he is the key on offense that must be stopped if Las Vegas hopes to win on Sunday.
The Silver and Black have had tough times stopping the run game this season, and Walker is someone who can put the Seahawks’ offense on his back. He has exceeded expectations in Year 1, and against this Raiders defense, could have his best game of the season.
Uchenna Nwosu
One of the big issues for the Raiders this season has been the play of the offensive line, and they have a tough assignment in Week 12 with this Seahawks pass rush. Uchenna Nwosu is an incredibly talented pass rusher and has seven sacks already this season, so he is someone the Raiders need to gameplan for on Sunday.
If Carr is playing under pressure all game inside Lumen Field, it is going to be an issue, as he has had some problems with having happy feet in the pocket this season. Nwosu is a matchup nightmare no matter how good the offensive line is, and hopefully, the Raiders can take another step forward up front in Week 12.
Tariq Woolen
Another rookie who has stepped up in a big way this season is Tariq Woolen, who is likely to draw the Davante Adams matchup in this one. Woolen already has five interceptions during the 2022 season, but Adams could be his toughest matchup so far this year, especially coming off such a huge game in Week 11.
Carr has done a nice job minimizing the interceptions this season, as he has tossed only five against 15 touchdown passes through Week 11. He is going to test Woolen on Sunday, as he is not going to shy away from Adams based on the matchup, and whoever wins this battle, could be in line to win the game.
