Las Vegas Raiders at Seattle Seahawks 2022 Week 12: Bold Predictions
By Brad Weiss
The Las Vegas Raiders take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season, and here are some bold predictions for the matchup.
Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season gives us a former divisional matchup, as the Las Vegas Raiders will travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks. These two teams had plenty of battles back in the day, and on Sunday, they each go into this game looking for a crucial win in the second half of their season.
Las Vegas is just trying to get back to respectability, but the Seahawks have a real chance to win the NFC West this season. Geno Smith is playing his best football since his days at West Virginia and will be a tough task for this Raiders defense.
Here, we look at some bold predictions for the Raiders in this one.
Las Vegas Raiders at Seattle Seahawks 2022 Week 12: Bold Predictions
Raiders score 30-plus points
The Las Vegas Raiders have scored 30 or more points only twice this season, and both times they did it at home. In those games, both wins, Las Vegas was able to get both the ground and passing attacks going, something I believe they will do on Sunday against Seattle.
Of course, this all hinges on whether or not Josh Jacobs is healthy enough to go, as he has been the straw that has stirred the drink all season long. If he is available, and with the way Derek Carr is connecting with Davante Adams in 2022, Las Vegas could hit the 30-point mark for the first time this season on the road.
Derek Carr has his first three-touchdown game of the season
This season, Derek Carr has 15 touchdown passes against only five interceptions, and he has done a much better job protecting the football as of late. However, he has yet to have that monster performance this season, as he has yet to throw for three touchdowns in a single game in 2022.
That could change on Sunday, as he and Adams are nearly unstoppable, and Mack Hollins has proven to be a playmaker all season long. If Foster Moreau continues to improve, and the Raiders can connect with the backs out of the backfield, he could reach the three-touchdown mark in Week 12.
The Raiders’ defense sacks Geno Smith four-plus times
Last week, we saw the Las Vegas defense make life very difficult for Russell Wilson, as they sacked him three times, and had ten quarterback hits. Denzel Perryman helped in a big way from his linebacker spot, and the Broncos had no answer for Maxx Crosby, who notched two of the three Raiders sacks.
Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham has to dial up the pressure once more in Week 12, getting to Smith early, and forcing him off his mark. He has had a tendency to make mistakes in the past, and if the Raiders can cause some pressure early on, a four-sack day could be on the horizon.
