Raiders RB Josh Jacobs making his case to be an All-Pro this year
Josh Jacobs is the NFL’s leading rusher right now
To give you a little bit of perspective, Jacobs is the leading rusher right now. He has amassed 1,159 rushing yards, more than 100 more than the second-leading running back, Derrick Henry. Even more impressive is that Jacobs has been able to sustain an average of 5.4 yards per carry despite a larger workload.
For example, Travis Etienne of the Jacksonville Jaguars is averaging nearly the same (5.5), but is doing it with far fewer carries (133), meaning Jacobs’s impact isn’t being diminished by more usage; he’s not getting worn down, in other words; in fact, he’s excelling as the season progresses, which is scary.
There’s still some football left to be played, but much like last year, if the Raiders are trying to sneak into the playoffs, they’ll do it on the back of Jacobs.
