Las Vegas Raiders vs Seattle Seahawks 2022 Week 12: Studs and Duds

Derek Carr – Stud

Derek Carr’s day started about as bad as it can be as he threw an interception on the first play of the game. It was the result of a miscommunication with Davante Adams and some poor mechanics from Carr, but the end result was an easy score for the Seattle Seahawks. He followed up with another interception later in the game, but the story of the day was not his turnovers but his accuracy and touchdowns.

Carr was able to throw three touchdown passes for the first time since December 2020 and the Raiders needed every one of those to win the game. The third touchdown was the best of the bunch as it came with two minutes to go in the game and after a defensive stop, sent the game to overtime. It showcased everything that makes Carr special as he avoided pressure and threw an absolute dime to Foster Moreau in the back of the end zone.

The veteran quarterback was his usual accurate self on the day as he finished by going 25 for 36 for 295 yards and three touchdowns. He was sacked just once and did well to evade the Seattle pressure and extend plays with his legs throughout the day.

Six receivers caught passes from Carr and he was able to distribute targets to all of his pass catchers with Seattle determined to take Adams out of the game. Carr has bounced back in a major way from his early struggles and has now delivered two straight weeks in clutch situations. Maybe some of that Carr magic is coming back to this team as they find their mojo.
