Chandler Jones

The Raiders’ offseason had many in the national media jumping on the bandwagon, mostly due to the Adams trade. However, the other side of that equation was Chandler Jones’ signing. Originally, he was supposed to help create a formidable pass-rushing tandem alongside Crosby.

Instead, his Raiders’ career has been highly underwhelming for the most part.

As of late, though, Jones is coming along nicely. The value that the Raiders are getting for his contract is obviously lopsided, but as the team finds itself while getting a streak going, Jones is doing his part, albeit quietly.

The recent game against the Seahawks was arguably the best one of his Raiders tenure so far. Per PFF, Jones amassed eight total pressures along with a 67.9 pass-rushing grade. While a multi-sack game still eludes him, sooner or later, Jones is going to land one. This rate of pressure certainly lends support to that theory.

Hopefully, if you’re the Raiders, Sunday’s game wasn’t an outlier; instead, it was the beginning of Jones turning things around and contributing to more than just run defense.
