Las Vegas Raiders may have something special in Andrew Billings
Las Vegas Raiders may have something special in Andrew Billings
Billings’ career day vs. the Seahawks
The Las Vegas Raiders were at Seattle in Week 12, and Andrew Billings was masterful.
The first-year Raider finally notched his first sack of the season and showed up big against the run with a monster tackle behind the line of the scrimmage. As a result of his efforts, Billings finished the week with a grade of 88.5; the third-highest at his position league-wide.
Billings truly showed out as a pass rusher against the Seahawks. Not only was his overall pass-rushing grade the fourth-highest at his position, but his “true” pass-rushing grade took the top spot this week among interior D-linemen, and second among all defenders period.
Side note – teammate Bilal Nichols was right behind Billings, earning the third-highest “true” pass rush grade league-wide and second at his position for Week 12.
At Seattle, Billings either hurried or sacked the opposing quarterback 13.2% of the time; a number that ranked third-highest at the DT position. The veteran pass rusher also beat his blocker 42.9% of the time on “true” pass-rushing snaps.
Now, the big question is how will Billings follow up his career day against the Chargers in Week 13? The Silver and Black will have their hands full with Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler and will need every bit of Billings’ help they can get. If he answers the call once more, it’s hard to imagine the 27-year-old won’t have a real home in Las Vegas for some time.
