Raiders vs Chargers 2022 Week 13: Studs and Duds

Josh Jacobs – Stud

Davante Adams will get the bulk of the headlines and deservedly so, but Josh Jacobs was an equally vital part of theRaiders’s win on Sunday. Coming off a week where he didn’t practice due to a calf injury, Jacobs looked like his usual dominant self against a very willing Chargers defense.

Coming into the week, the Chargers were giving up nearly 5.5 yards per carry and Jacobs’ average was right around that as he finished the day with 26 carries for 144 yards and a touchdown. His day started off rocky as he lost a fumble midway through the first quarter but was able to bounce back in a major way.

Josh McDaniels did not shy away from feeding his superstar running back after the early mistake and he paid back his faith in a major way. Jacobs accounted for 5 first downs on the ground and his biggest came with 2:37 left in the game as he gained a tough 7 yards on 2nd and 6.

That first down essentially ended the game as it allowed the Raiders to run the clock down to 31 seconds before pinning LA on their own 10 after an AJ Cole punt. 100 yards and a touchdown are becoming the minimum we expect from Jacobs these days and he gets a chance to keep things rolling with a matchup against a Rams defense that has been stout against the run but will be without DT Aaron Donald.
