Las Vegas Raiders 2023 7-round Mock Draft: Insurance for Darren Waller

Isaiah Foskey. 46. player. 819. . EDGE. Fighting Irish

We saw what Chandler Jones is capable of on Sunday as he went crazy against the LA Chargers but those performances look like they will be few and far in between at this stage in his career. The Raiders don’t have much depth at edge rusher after they seem to have given up on Malcolm Koonce so they need some help in that department.

In comes Isaiah Foskey from Notre Dame who may be a late first-rounder but is available in this mock draft in the mid-second round. He is a tall and rangy edge rusher who measures in at 6-5, 265lbs and his last recorded 40 time was a solid 4.72.

Foskey is having his second double-digit sack season in a row and has been one of the stars of a solid Notre Dame defense that is ranked 32nd out of 131 schools in the country. Scouting reports note that he plays with great leverage and is both strong enough to hold up against the run and flexible enough to beat tackles off the edge.

They also note that he is a bit raw as a pass rusher and can play high at times but that is where the tutelage of Chandler Jones and Maxx Crosby can come in handy. Foskey has the physical tools to succeed and will be able to sharpen his skills under a DPOY candidate and one of the great pass rushers of this era.
