Here we go again: Could Tom Brady join the Raiders?

Should the Raiders pursue Brady?

While Brady is highly likely to be intrigued by the chance to play for the Raiders, the team must also be interested in signing him. This would of course mean moving on from Derek Carr. The team’s starting quarterback for nine years and owner of every passing record, he is as divisive as any player in the sport. However, there will be no shortage of teams calling Las Vegas if he is made available.

After all, while he is not perfect, Carr is still a good quarterback which is hard to find in the NFL. Cursed to play with bad defenses throughout his career, his teams simply have not won enough. Alas, as mentioned, the 2022 Raiders are just a few plays away from having one of the league’s best records.

Due to this, it is perfectly reasonable to try and run it back in 2023 with Carr at the helm once again. With a healthy Waller and Renfrow and an improved offensive line, things might finally swing Carr’s way.

On the other side, however, nine years has been long enough for many members of Raider Nation. Especially after the rumors of adding Tom Brady in 2020 never materialized and he won a Super Bowl that same year in Tampa Bay. The allure of adding the NFL’s greatest player may be too much to overcome for a franchise that is desperate for playoff success.

In what would be his age-46 season, Brady may not even elect to return to the gridiron. Still, if he does, he may just have enough left in the tank, with this supporting cast, to take the Raiders back to the promised land. If you have the chance to land Brady and draft a young passer in the draft, you pull the trigger and worry about the consequences later.
