Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Defense gets an influx of talent

. CB. Terrapins . Jakorian Bennett. 211. player. 824

Wrapping up this mock draft with a defensive back makes sense considering all of the struggles the Raiders have had with that group this season. Injuries and poor play have seen them grab guys off practice squads and handing them their first career starts so depth is a major need.

Jakorian Bennett out of Maryland projects as a late round pick because he is a bit stiff and has issues with sloppiness in technique. He has decent size for a cornerback at 5-11, 195lbs and ran a 4.43 40 most recently.

His physical tools are top tier, but he needs to improve his technique and fluidity to be an every down NFL player.

As we have said many times, the late rounds are when you bet on guys that have great potential despite their flaws and Bennett certainly fits the bill. His elite speed and solid size make him an intriguing prospect but he will need to be coached up to contribute to the Raider defense.

If they can clean up the sloppiness and inconsistency the Raiders will have a physical freak ready to be unleashed on unsuspecting receivers.
