Las Vegas vs Patriots 2022 Week 15: 3 Raiders to watch
Josh Jacobs
It’s a given that Josh Jacobs will earn his payday in the offseason after putting Las Vegas’ offense on his back for much of the year. The Raiders tailback leads the NFL in rushing and ranks top 10 in rushing touchdowns as well as yards per rush attempt.
He’s achieved all of the above while battling several ailments over the past few weeks, but could it finally be catching up to him?
Against the Rams’ top-five ranked run defense last week, Jacobs posted his second-lowest average yards per attempt this season with 3.7 yards per carry. He managed to total 99 yards on the ground, but it took him 27 attempts to get there, with his longest run of the day going for 15 yards.
When playing on the road this season the Patriots are surrendering the fifth-fewest rushing yards to their opponent, with an average of 92.3 per game. Josh McDaniels cannot afford to abandon the run game completely, but it will be key to monitor how much usage Jacobs gets on Sunday and how effective he is.
