Raiders vs Patriots 2022 Week 15: Bold predictions

Josh McDaniels gets the best of Bill Belichick

This game has undoubtedly been circled on the schedule ever since the NFL released not only the matchups but the specific weeks the games will be played. The hopes were that it would be a better matchup in regards to both teams actively fighting for a playoff spot, but there is plenty of excitement and storyline to go along nonetheless.

Josh McDaniels is on his second stint as a head coach after having a not-so-good run with the Broncos when he took the job in 2009. After rejoining the Patriots and Bill Belichick a few years later, many wondered if he would ever take his shot as a head coach again and whether he would find success doing so.

McDaniels has taken a lot of criticism this year with how terrible the Raiders season has gone. The team has blown three 17-point leads so far and as a franchise, they have only done that a total of five times prior. McDaniels knows that this is a process and Mark Davis has backed his first-year head coach in regards to him not going anywhere anytime soon.

I think if any game left on the schedule gives him any extra juice to get the win, it is unequivocally this matchup against his former mentor. I think McDaniels pulls out all the stops and gets his most important win of the season against his former team.
