Raiders vs 49ers Prediction and Odds for 2022 Week 17 NFL Football

The Las Vegas Raiders look to bounce back from another heartbreaking loss in Week 17, as they welcome the San Francisco 49ers to Allegiant Stadium.
It was another shocking loss for the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 16, as Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett looked like Terry Bradshaw late in the game to lead the team on a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter. For Las Vegas, it was another disappointing chapter in what has been a terrible season for the Silver and Black.
Now, the Raiders head home for their final two games of the season, both coming against playoff teams in the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs. It will be two more kicks at the can for Josh McDaniels in Year 1 as the head coach, and if they lose out, the 6-11 record would be a shocking culmination in a season of ‘what ifs.’

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Raiders are heavy underdogs on the road in this one, getting 6.0 points from the San Francisco 49ers. The over/under is currently set at 44.5, so there should be some offense on display Sunday. A money line bet on the Silver and Black would come in at +250, while a pick on the 49ers would not net you much money, as they are currently -205.

I do not like this matchup at all for the Raiders, as the 49ers will be coming into this game healthy, and ready to dominate their former Bay Area rivals. Rookie quarterback Brock Purdy has been outstanding since filling in for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo, and the addition of Christian McCaffrey has been just what this offense needed.
On defense, San Francisco has one of the more complete units in the NFL, and they are going to make life difficult for Derek Carr, or whoever is under center on Sunday. There has been rumors that the team could shut Carr down for the final two games of the season, electing to start Jarrett Stidham, which would favor the 49ers in this one as well.
Looking at these two teams, I like the 49ers to get out to an early lead and cruise to a victory inside Allegiant Stadium on Sunday afternoon. That would give the Raiders their first double-digit loss season since the 2018 campaign, and get the McDaniels era off on the wrong foot in Las Vegas.
