Las Vegas vs 49ers 2022 Week 17: 3 Raiders to watch

RB Josh Jacobs

Josh Jacobs is having a career year this season as he leads the league in rushing yards and touchdowns for running backs with 1,539 yards and 11 touchdowns. Jacobs has been the one consistent in this up-and-down offense and is the reason the Raiders have most of their 6 wins this season.

He comes against a more than formidable foe this week. Not only do the 49ers have the number one ranked defense overall, but they also have the number one ranked rushing defense ranking 1st in rushing yards, attempts, and 5th in rushing touchdowns.

A huge part of that is the stout defensive line. Even though the Raiders’ offensive line has done well in opening up holes for Jacobs, a lot of his yards have come after contact and the 49ers have a knack for hitting back in the backfield. It is yet to be seen how much McDaniels will trust Stidham to sling it early and often against a very good 49ers’ secondary, but it would go a long way in supporting Jarrett if the offense can get Jacobs into a rhythm and let him do what he’s shown he can do all season in controlling the pace of the game.
