Raiders 2023 7-round Mock Draft: Las Vegas lands a franchise QB
The Raiders currently own the 9th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and will now be on the hunt for their next franchise quarterback
This has been a tumultuous week for the Las Vegas Raiders as they followed up another tough loss with even more dramatic news about the future of the franchise. We thought that allowing Kenny Pickett to march down the field and win the game would be the low point of the week but instead, we have been treated to the usual Raider circus.
Multiple news outlets reported that franchise quarterback Derek Carr would be inactive for the final two games of the season with the team looking to protect him from injury to avoid fully guaranteeing the next two years of his contract.
Head coach Josh McDaniels said in his press conference that they hope to evaluate Jarrett Stidham in the next two games and will give some looks to Chase Garbers as well.
Considering they are playing two of the best teams in the NFL in week 17 and 18, we don’t anticipate that either quarterback will do very well, and this may be a tank job as the Raiders look to move up in the draft order. They currently are in the ninth overall slot and could move up with two losses if some of the teams ahead of them win in the next two weeks.
So far this season many of our mock drafts have not had the Raiders taking a quarterback in the first round but given everything that has happened, we can assume they will do exactly that. With that in mind, here is the latest mock draft ahead of Week 17.
