Raiders 2023 7-round Mock Draft: Las Vegas lands a franchise QB

. EDGE/OLB. Mountaineers . Nick Hampton. 141. player. 2393

With the likely departure of Denzel Perryman and Jayon Brown in free agency, the Raiders are once again in search of linebacker help this offseason. Nick Hampton out of Appalachian state is an intriguing prospect who flashes pass and rush ability and is versatile to play other linebacker positions as well.

Hampton measures in at 6–3 and 235 pounds and ran a 4.6 5,40. Many consider him an athletic freak who is actually bigger and faster than he looks initially. He is listed officially ahead of this draft as an edge rusher but can play middle linebacker because of his size and speed.

His strength is one of his biggest traits, and that could allow him to hold up at the point of attack against interior linemen if he lined up as the MIKE.

The concerns around him are a lack of elite pass-rushing moves and some of that versatility makes his position at the next level a question mark. He does not project as in every down defensive end, but he can be a situational pass rusher and provide cover at the inside linebacker positions as well.
