Raiders 2023 7-round NFL Mock Draft: Las Vegas moves on from Derek Carr

player. 814. . OT. Bulldogs . Warren McClendon. 138

This is not the first time we have mocked Warren McClendon to the Raiders as a late round pick and it likely won’t be the last. The Georgia native has been an absolute rock for the Bulldogs after taking over the right tackle position his sophomore year.

He has been a consistent starter for them for the past 38 games though an injury in this year’s SEC championship saw his time limited in the College Football Playoff.

McClendon’s status for the upcoming national championship game is up in the air but regardless of whether he plays or not, he looks to be a great value pick at this slot. One of the best things about McClendon is that he is a right tackle by trade and not a left tackle that the Raiders will look to convert.

It may seem as simple as switching sides, but there are intricacies that go into playing each of the tackle positions that many don’t take into account.

Thayer Munford and Jermaine Eluemunor have played well in spurts but beyond that the Raiders are thin at the tackle positions. Getting a mature and experienced player in McClendon would be a nice upgrade for the depth of the offensive line as he could come in and push Munford for the starting role.

We all love when SEC lineman work out in the NFL and McLendon has all the makings of a great pro tackle.
