Las Vegas Raiders: A familiar face to run Josh McDaniels’s offense in 2023

Tom Brady

This is the option that has already gotten a lot of buzz, will be talked about all year long, and won’t be settled until we go into training camp with our quarterback room solidified with three options. This is the one that has many Raiders fans outraged and in a mental pretzel, because of what he represents in the history of Raider football. He represents a debilitating time that began with a game and play that can only be summed up by one sentence: It was a fumble.

Some fans though, see it as something that was long enough ago to put it out of their mind if it means winning football games. There is a great debate on Twitter right now about what Al Davis would think of the idea of bringing Tom Brady in. Personally, I believe all Al cared about was winning and that nothing else mattered when it came to making that happen, even bad blood.

There is zero debate that Tom Brady is the greatest and most successful quarterback to ever play the game. What is debatable is whether his age has become a factor in his continued success. Many people have said that it will be and it’s not worth taking the risk on.

Many will point out that that sentiment has been a talking point for multiple years and a Tom Brady-led team hasn’t missed the playoffs since he tore his ACL in the season opener in 2008. For all of you counting at home, that is 13 years straight with two different teams.

Why is all that relevant? Because 13 of his last 15 years with the Patriots have been led offensively by Raiders’ new head coach Josh McDaniels. The system that Brady has been so successful in all of those years and has mastered more than any other human being on the planet, is what is being implemented in Las Vegas.

On top of that, Brady is a free agent next year and says he has no plans of retiring as of right now. Regardless of how you feel about Tom Brady, it is a real possibility that he will be sporting the Silver and Black this upcoming season. Bringing him in while also drafting a potential successor would hammer home the point that this front office is all in on winning now, while still planning for the future.
