Las Vegas Raiders: A proper farewell and thank you to Derek Carr
The most polarizing Raider of all-time
I once wrote a piece about how he’s the most polarizing Raider of all time. Now that it’s over, your feelings about him as the Raiders quarterback are obsolete and irrelevant. Put your quarterback opinion aside and appreciate the human who spent an incalculable amount of his life trying to improve your favorite football team.
He committed so much of his time and effort, that could’ve been spent with his family and his faith, working on his craft to entertain you. There’s never been a player who better represented the Raiders than Derek Carr.
2016 will always go down as the Raiders’ best chance at making a run in the past two decades. 2021 will be remembered as the most resilient team in the history of the NFL. I’m thankful for those two playoff runs led by Carr.
I hope someday he receives the proper farewell he deserves. A standing ovation at Allegiant Stadium would be much more appropriate than this abrupt ending. Where Raider Nation can put their on-the-field disappointment aside and thank him for his effort.
The Raiders are my favorite source of entertainment. They bring me closer to family and friends. This is why sports are important. And it was all better for Derek Carr has been a part of it.
So here’s to the greatest leader ever to wear the Silver and Black – and to hoping he finally finds what he’s been looking for the past decade.
Thank you, #4. Your loyalty will never be forgotten.
