Las Vegas Raiders: A proper farewell and thank you to Derek Carr
A love for the Silver and Black
His respect and love for the history of the organization are rare for a modern-day athlete. This was best exemplified every home game at Allegiant Stadium, when Carr would tap the Ken Stabler graphic in the locker room hallway on his way to the field, giving kudos to a Hall of Famer who played long before his time.
Football legends aside, the long-time Raiders captain modeled his competitiveness and work ethic after Kobe Bryant. Another example of appreciating California athletes that came before him, using them as a blueprint for his own career.

Over the years, Carr has repeatedly said he would never play for another team. However, in the next couple of months, he may very well join another team. And that’s ok. He wasn’t lying when he said all that. It’s what he believed at the time.
But circumstances change. He proved he was a true Raider and gave us everything he had. If anyone is allowed to change their mind, it’s him. He owes us nothing.
