Primary scapegoats from the Las Vegas Raiders 2022 season

Hurt Offensive Weapons

After bringing in Davante Adams to assume the WR1 mantle, all signs pointed to the Las Vegas Raiders having one of the more prolific offenses in all of football. Hunter Renfrow has been one of the better slot wideouts in the NFL for quite some time now, and Darren Waller built a reputation of being one of the best tight ends in the NFL.

With Josh Jacobs having a breakout season, and Mack Hollins emerging as a deep threat, you would think the Silver and Black had enough pieces to light defenses up every week. However, Waller and Renfrow struggled to stay healthy all season long, and in the end, they combined to appear in only 19 games during the 2022 campaign.

When healthy, both men can dice apart defenses, but with them out, Las Vegas was forced to rely on the likes of Foster Moreau and Keelan Cole in big spots. That is a significant drop in talent, and their lack of availability throughout the 2022 season was a big reason for the offense struggling in the minds of some.
