Raiders have a good chance to play against Derek Carr in 2023

Home: New England Patriots, New York Jets, Green Bay Packers

With the 2023 list of team opponents already out, we have a clear picture of what the matchups will be for the Silver and Black next fall and winter. Looking at the teams they will take on at home inside Allegiant Stadium, some really stand out in terms of where Carr could land this upcoming season.

First, we start with the New England Patriots, a franchise that could be looking to move on from Mac Jones this offseason. New England had a subpar season with Jones as their starter, and with changes coming within the offensive staff, a veteran quarterback like Carr could be a top priority for them.

Staying in the AFC East, the New York Jets were a quarterback away from being a legitimate playoff team in 2022, and they likely won’t go into 2023 with Zach Wilson slated as the starter. In fact, Wilson is already stating he will make the player who comes in to fight for the starting jobs life a living hell, and that player could end up being Carr.

Finally, the Green Bay Packers may have seen the last of Aaron Rodgers as their starter, and I do not believe head coach Matt LaFleur is going to go into next season banking on Jordan Love. He may be coaching for his job in Green Bay after missing the playoffs this past season, though bringing in Carr to play in cold weather for home games may not be the best decision.
