Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Las Vegas trades down in Round 1

848. . CB. Boilermakers . Cory Trice. 145. player

After a couple picks on offense, we are back to working on the defensive side of the ball and grabbing a defensive back with some intriguing physical attributes. Cor

y Trice out of Purdue measures in at 6-3 and 215lbss and his last recorded 40 was 4.58 seconds.

His long speed may be a concern, but his size makes him an intriguing press corner and perhaps even a future strong safety. He played for five years for the Boilermakers though his only full season was in 2022. His injury history is a concern, but he was excellent last season giving up just a 51.3 quarterback rating.

His ability to physically dominate opposing receivers and size to hold up against tight ends makes him a versatile addition to the Raiders’ defense. We have seen Patrick Graham deploy his larger dB as blitzers and a guy this big and strong could give tight ends and running backs fits when he has a full head of steam. Scouts have him anywhere from a fifth-round pick to an undrafted free agent but if the Raiders like what they see grabbing him here is a solid value.
