After nine seasons, the Raiders are moving on from Derek Carr. While there were plenty of exciting moments, these five will not be looked upon fondly.
Over the last nine seasons, there have been plenty of ups and downs for Raiders fans. With just two playoff berths in that time, the fans had rightly become frustrated. As such, the Raiders were forced to move on from starting quarterback, Derek Carr. After all, through numerous head coaches, general managers, and players, he was the only constant.
However, the argument can still be made that Carr is the franchise’s greatest quarterback. The all-time leader in every important passing category, it will be a long time before someone usurps him in the record books.
Of course, he is also the teams most polarizing player ever. His detractors will say despite the numbers, the team did not win enough under his leadership. This would be true as well as Carr sports just a 63-79 record in the Silver and Black. To make matters worse, a good amount of these losses can be directly attributed to the offense and Carr himself.
With these losses in mind, it is easy for Raiders fans to become bitter about the last nine years. Those who are more pessimistic than others may even remember these next five moments quicker than they do the good parts of the Carr era.
