The Las Vegas Raiders must bring back Josh Jacobs in 2023, as he will be the key to everything the Silver and Black do well on offense.

The biggest news coming for the Las Vegas Raiders in terms of their 2023 off-season will be who is going to be their starting quarterback next season. With the franchise turning the page from Derek Carr, the search is on for the next signal-caller to run Josh McDaniels’ offense, and some familiar names have already been thrown around.

So, while the Tom Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo rumors continue to fly, or even Aaron Rodgers, the franchise needs to keep its eye on the prize when it comes to a homegrown superstar in the making. After declining Josh Jacobs’ fifth-year option this past offseason, they will need to find a way to bring him back after a breakout season, as he will be the key to the offense in 2023, no matter who is under center.

Going into his age-25 season, Jacobs is fresh off his third 1,000-yard season in four tries, and based on what we saw from him, he is just entering his prime.

Bringing back Jacobs is priority No. 1 for Raiders’ offense

Not only did Jacobs do an outstanding job running the football this past season, leading the NFL in rushing yards, but he also racked up over 2,000 all-purpose yards. In a season where the offense struggled to play consistent football every week, Jacobs was a constant, earning the trust of Josh McDaniels along the way.

In 2023, changes are coming at quarterback, and you have to think that the offensive line is going to be a major priority. In Jacobs, the Silver and Black would have that bonafide star at the running back position, and based on his age, he should have at least four more great seasons in front of him.

The move from Carr is a big one, and there has to be a plan in place when you decide to move on from a franchise quarterback who has set nearly every franchise passing record. The next man to take the reins of the franchise has big shoes to fill, but with Jacobs, and a true WR1 in Davante Adams in the fold, this is a great situation to come into next season.
