The Las Vegas Raiders have a huge offseason ahead of them, and here, we take a look at some important dates to circle on your 2023 calendar.

As we enter the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs, the Las Vegas Raiders are once again watching the action from their couches. After making the playoffs last season, the Silver and Black took a big step backward this year, losing so many winnable games, mostly after building big leads.

For Raider Nation, their attention has turned to the offseason, where David Ziegler and Josh McDaniels will be expected to right the wrongs within the roster. There is a lot of work to be done, and hopefully, over the next three months, they can find the right formula to put a winning product on the field.

With that said, here are some dates you will want to jot down.

Las Vegas Raiders: Important Dates to circle in the 2023 offseason

  • February 21: 1st day teams can designate franchise or transition players
  • February 28- March 6: NFL Scouting Combine
  • March 7: Deadline to franchise or transition players
  • March 15: All teams must be under the 2023 salary cap. The 2023 league year begins at 1:00pm PT
  • April 17: Raiders can begin offseason workout programs
  • April 21: Deadline for restricted FAs to sign offer sheets
  • April 27-29: NFL Draft

Of course, before any of these dates, the hard deadline of February 15 is when the team has to decide what to do with quarterback Derek Carr. Unless they have a trade partner, or they give him his walking papers, his $40.4 million will become guaranteed for the 2023 season.

Whatever happens this offseason, this is a big one for head coach Josh McDaniels, as the team staggered through a terrible 6-11 season in his first year at the helm of the franchise. The tandem of him and David Ziegler was supposed to bring the Raiders back to being a perennial playoff contender for the first time in 20 years, but after the short sample size, there are more questions than answers.
