Breaking up the best thing for both the Raiders and Derek Carr

Why it benefits the Raiders

This past offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders made sweeping changes in the front office and in terms of coaching personnel. The organization went out and poached some key people from the New England Patriots, including head coach Josh McDaniels, and general manager David Ziegler.

During the 2022 season, Carr had a falling out with McDaniels, and it was likely decided then that they would be making a change at quarterback moving forward. Carr has been the face of the organization for so many years, but with a new regime in place, now is the time for them to turn the page at the most important position in sports.

Moving on from Carr enables the Raiders organization, right or wrong, to go after their guy, and start building the offense around him. One name that really has stood out is Tom Brady, who has a relationship with both McDaniels and Ziegler, and may be the perfect veteran to bring in and bridge the gap between Carr, and the next young quarterback to take over the franchise.

Carr has been a lightning rod among Raiders fans, and a move away from him gives the front office a bit of breathing room as they replace the franchise’s all-time leading passer.
