Breaking up the best thing for both the Raiders and Derek Carr

Why it benefits Derek Carr

For years, Carr has been the punching bag for this organization, the main constant throughout so many changes in terms of his teammates, and coaching staffs. He has had to lead this franchise through tragedy, and there was no bigger representation of that than last season, when he had to navigate issues both on, and off the field.

Now, Carr can stop being the scapegoat for so many Raiders losing seasons, and embark on the next phase of his career. He is going to be able to pick the team the team that he goes to next, and there is a lot of power in being able to do just that.

Not saying that it was all perfect with Carr, but looking at the rest of the league, you could do a lot worse than No. 4. He has stood tall in the face of adversity throughout his Raiders career, and there is a huge chunk of Raider Nation that is going to miss him under center.

Based on the teams that may reach out for his services, there is a good chance that the Raiders and Carr will face each other during the 2023 NFL season. No matter what happens to both the franchise, and the quarterback, the time was now to break off, and both parties are better off for it.
