Whoever is the Las Vegas Raiders quarterback in 2023 is entering a position that is loaded with weapons, and a great offensive mind at head coach.

Going into the 2023 NFL regular season, the Las Vegas Raiders will have someone not named Derek Carr as their starting quarterback. The nine-year starter said his goodbyes to Raider Nation earlier in the month, and will either work out a trade with the team, or get his release by February 15.

That is when all the noise will really begin as to who will be the next signal-caller for this proud franchise. Many names have been thrown around, including moving up to draft a rookie in the 2023 NFL Draft, or even possibly bringing in the most decorated quarterback of all-time in Tom Brady.

No matter who the man under center is in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season, that man is going to be in a great spot with this offense. Sure, the Silver and Black need to revamp the offensive line this offseason, and that is certain to be a priority, but looking at the roster of talent the next quarterback is inheriting, you have to think it is a very positive destination to look at.

Raiders loaded with offensive weapons

First, the next quarterback will go to an organization with an offensive-minded head coach, something most veterans look for when landing with a new team. Josh McDaniels may have his faults as a head coach, but he knows what he is doing on offense, and a new quarterback of his picking would enable him to run the offense the way he wants to.

Then, you look at the weapons, as the Raiders have arguably the best wide receiver in all of football in Davante Adams. Adams recently set the franchise’s single-season receiving yards record, and based on what we saw in Year 1 in the Silver and Black, has a lot of good football left in him.

If they can bring him back, Josh Jacobs is one of the best running backs in the game, and when healthy, Darren Waller is one of the best tight ends. Also, Hunter Renfrow is considered one of  the best slot receivers in the game, so there are plenty of pieces for the next quarterback to come in and dominate with.

The Raiders may have won only six games last season, but the talent on this roster is good enough for them to be right back in the playoffs next year. Las Vegas has major work to do on the roster, especially on defense and along the offensive line, but the pieces are in place for the next quarterback to succeed in Year 1.
