Raiders: Positional pairs to bring back during 2023 free agency

There is certain to be a lot of movement in terms of the Las Vegas Raiders roster this off-season, but these positional pairs should be kept in free agency.

With the Raiders off-season officially here, once again while NFL playoffs are still being played, free agency and the draft is where many turn their eyes to. We still have a lot of time before we get to the point of figuring out who in the NFL will truly hit free agency after the season ends, and which players will be franchise tagged. One thing you can always look into early though is which Raiders players are free agents and, by channeling your inner Clash, deciding should they stay or should they go.

Heading into the season if you looked at all the one-year deals and people pegged to be a free agents going into the 2023 season, you’d think it wouldn’t be too big of a deal with some of the names on the list. After the season ended, however, many of those names were the bright spots in some abysmal play by one position group or another.

The Raiders currently sit with a little over 22 million in cap space, but with the recent decision to effectively wipe their hands clean of Derek Carr and his contract, they will save close to 30 million as soon he is either traded or cut before his February 15th deadline. That instant jump to 50+ million puts them top-4 in the NFL for highest cap space.

Las Vegas is expected to be big players in free agency this year, hoping to make some big splashes to right the ship that took a disappointing turn in 2022. While there are going to be plenty of big names the Raiders will be linked to this off-season, they shouldn’t forget about some of the in-house duos that made this 2022 season bearable to watch.
