4 most notable unsung heroes for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022

No. 3: Mack Hollins

Most of the talk when it comes to the wide receiver group circles around the incredible season by Davante Admas, or the fact that Hunter Renfrow was hurt for much of the year. However, it was the Raiders’ No. 2 option on the outside that flourish in his first season with the franchise, as Mack Hollins proved to be a big-play machine.

Hollins finished the season with a career-high 57 catches and 690 receiving yards while starting more games in 2022 than he did in his entire NFL career combined. A pending free agent, Hollins should be brought back in 2023, as he certainly has a role in Josh McDaniels’ offense.

No. 2: Luke Masterson

Of all the rookies the Raiders brought in via the 2022 NFL Draft, it was an undrafted rookie that played the best on the defensive side of the ball. Luke Masterson came in and filled a role in a position group that was struggling for depth, and proved that he could certainly play linebacker at the NFL level.

Now, he will go into Year 2 in the NFL as a key member of this Raiders roster, whether that is on defense, or on special teams. He exceeded expectations in 2022, and in 2023, could round into one of the better stoppers on the defensive side of the ball.
