Raiders: 4 Derek Carr trade scenarios including a huge 2023 NFL Draft shift
We start out with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who suddenly have a gaping hole at the quarterback position after the retirement of Tom Brady. Tampa Bay made the playoffs this past season in a very bad NFC South division, and currently only have Kyle Trask under contract for the 2023 campaign.
At this point in his coaching career, in his second stint at the helm of a franchise, Todd Bowles is not going to want to wait around for Trask to develop into a legitimate NFL quarterback. The trade for Carr would send two Day 2 picks Las Vegas’s way, but it would also give Bowles a franchise-caliber quarterback to replace Brady with.
Tampa Bay is in cap hell, but will get some relief with Brady retiring. The Buccaneers also have some elite wide receivers in both Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, making this a solid landing spot for Carr, while also landing him in a division he can win as soon as 2023.
