The Las Vegas Raiders have seemingly turned their attention to Aaron Rodgers after the sudden retirement of Tom Brady this past week.

We are entering the final days of seeing Derek Carr represent the Las Vegas Raiders in any fashion, as he was named to his fourth Pro Bowl this past week. It has been a crazy week for the Silver and Black, as Carr was not only named to the Pro Bowl, but the man that the team hoped would replace him, Tom Brady, retired.

With Brady retiring, our Jason Willis recently put together a list of three realistic options for the Silver and Black at quarterback next season. One of those options was future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, whose time in Green Bay appears to be over despite the massive contract he currently has with the team.

Looking at what is available to the Raiders for the 2023 season, Rodgers is the only real upgrade from Carr, especially if the Silver and Black do not move up in the 2023 NFL Draft. Sure, they could roll with CJ Stroud or Bryce Young if they could somehow jump into the top-5, but bringing in a veteran via free agency seems like the way Josh McDaniels and David Ziegler want to go.

It also helps that the team’s best offensive player, Davante Adams, is making a push for Rodgers to come to the desert. In fact, it is reported that Rodgers has already bought a home in Las Vegas, and Adams would likely want nothing more than to be reunited with the quarterback that helped him become one of the best wide receivers in the game.

So for now, we wait, as we still have to see what the team plans to do with Carr, whose contract becomes guaranteed on February 15. They are certainly moving on from No. 4, and if the team wants to win in 2023 without him, getting Rodgers seems like the only way that will be possible at this point.
