The Las Vegas Raiders saw Derek Carr get named to his fourth Pro Bowl this week, and here is how he surprised all of us on Thursday night.

On  Thursday night, former starting quarterback Derek Carr represented the Las Vegas Raiders in the Pro Bowl precision passing event. In the event, Carr dominated, showing the entire country the kind of pinpoint accuracy he has, especially when there is nobody in his face.

That should be no surprise to Raiders fans, who have clamored over his passing abilities for years, seeing him set numerous team records. However, those who wanted the team to move on from Carr would point to his struggles in the red zone, and against pressure, so even his detractors probably were not surprised with the effort he put in on Thursday night.

The surprising part about Carr on Thursday, and since he broke his social media silence after being named to the Pro Bowl, is his attitude, and overall sense of humor. He has been very confident on social media, and especially to the press at the Pro Bowl, something we really did not get to see from him during his nine years as the starter for the franchise.

Whichever team gets Carr is getting a player who seems like he is on a mission to show everybody that he was not the problem when it came to all the losing during his time with the Silver and Black. If anything, he probably got a few more teams excited about the possibility of having him in 2023, and beyond.

Raiders are still in limbo when it comes to Carr

We have discussed some realistic options for the Raiders now that Carr is gone, and outside of Aaron Rodgers, everything else is a downgrade, at least in 2023. Sure, they could go the rookie quarterback route, but after going 6-11 last season, and firmly on the hot seat, is Josh McDaniels willing to do that?
