Las Vegas Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: A perfect scenario?

856. . Edge. Cowboys . Tyler Lacy. 174. player

The Raiders get back to working on the defense as they grab a solid edge rusher in Tyler Lacy out of Oklahoma State with the 174th overall pick. By now most of the top-tier pass rushers are off the board but we grab a versatile and talented one in Lacy this late in the draft.

The Texas native has been in action for the Cowboys since 2019 and has recorded 12 sacks over his career in Stillwater as well as an incredible 30 tackles for loss. These pass rush numbers don’t jump off the page but considering Lacy’s ability as a run defender as well as a pass rusher we can excuse the lack of sacks and pressures.

Lacy has a prototypical build for an edge rusher at 6-4 and 285lbs though his 40 time is on the low end at 4.9 seconds. He’s not an elite athlete but is incredibly strong and plays with low pad level and leverage to overcome that deficiency. He projects as a starting 4-3 defensive end and would be a great rotational lineman on this Raiders’ defense.
