Las Vegas Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: A perfect scenario?

Linebacker. Utes . Mohamoud Diabate. 184. player. 843.

The Raiders grab another versatile defender with the 184th pick in Utah linebacker Mohamoud Diabate. The former Ute star started his career in Florida and spent the first three seasons of his time in college with the Gators before making a move out west.

Diabate transferred to Utah and became a star, having his best statistical season to date in his senior season. He was a tackling machine at Florida with nearly 90 tackles in his junior season but showed off some of his star power this season with Utah.

The Alabama native put up 60 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks to show off his ability to both play as a stand-up linebacker or edge-rushing defensive end. He has a great build for a linebacker at 6-4 and 230lbs and his forty time of 4.53 seconds is in the top 10% at his position.

Diabate is renowned for his coverage skills but also can rush the passer and make plays in the backfield. Scouts are concerned about a perceived lack of physicality but if he is playing as a weak-side linebacker or situational pass rusher that is not as much of a concern. We love to mock versatile defenders to the Raiders and Diabate has all the tools to make plays everywhere on the field.
