Las Vegas Raiders: Ranking the top-8 options at quarterback in 2023
No. 8: Jacoby Brissett
First up on the list is Jacoby Brissett. Brissett spent the 2022 season with the Cleveland Browns, starting the first half of the season until Deshaun Watson returned in Week 13 from suspension. Jacoby has previously spent time with the Patriots, Colts, and Dolphins in his seven-year NFL career.
Brissett has been a career journeyman up to this point and has shown no other reason to think he’s not just a bridge QB. However, in a situation where the Raiders miss out on some bigger-name quarterbacks, there’s a scenario in which Brissett is in silver and black next season.
- 2022 Stats
- Passing 64% 2,608 YDs 12 TDs 6 INTs
- Rushing 49 ATT 243 YDs 2 TDs
No. 7: Mac Jones
Mac Jones and Josh McDaniels have a recent history together as Josh was the Patriot’s offensive play-caller in the 2021 season. Mac excelled under McDaniels’ system and made the pro bowl in his rookie year.
Without Josh McDaniels, Jones struggled to improve in year two and the Patriots’ passing game looked terrible at times. The Patriots will look around and kick the tires on other QBs to try to improve going forward. Mac Jones might not be the flashiest move the Raiders could make, but it wouldn’t be a bad one.
